Security for managers<\/span><\/h4>\n

From big enterprise to small startups, everyone is concerned about security these days. Cyber attacks are happening very often and data breaches are commonplace. How can we move fast and stay secure at the same time?<\/span><\/p>\n

Traditionally, security teams have been a gateway to production. But in an Agile environment \u2013 where products pivot, priorities shift and contexts evolve \u2013 security needs to change its role. It needs to interact with an always changing environment. On the other hand, Agile practitioners need to embrace security as an Agile core principle. In this talk, Mario Areias will present a different way of engaging security. And, in doing so, he\u2019ll make the case that security can deliver value without necessarily being a blocker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jez Humble is an author, speaker, CTO at DevOps Research and Assessment LLC, and a lecturer at UC Berkeley.<\/span><\/p>

He is the co-author of <\/span>Continuous Delivery<\/span><\/i>, the Jolt Award-winning book in Martin Fowler's signature series, as well as the books <\/span>Lean Enterprise<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>The DevOps Handbook<\/span><\/i>. Jez has spent his career tinkering with code, infrastructure, and product development and consulting in companies of varying sizes across three continents, most recently working for the US Federal Government at 18F.
