The anti-transformation transformation<\/span><\/h4>\n

The transformation towards DevOps and Agile is like no transformation undertaken by organisations before. The principles and ideas are different to previous transformations where an \u2018end-state\u2019 was to be achieved. We all tend to agree on what a mature state of DevOps looks like, yet so few of us are able to achieve this when starting from a legacy enterprise organisation. What is holding us back? What traps are set along the transformation path? And how can we avoid those and achieve the goals we are setting for ourselves? <\/span><\/p>\n

In this talk, Mirco Hering will explore these questions and more on the back of his experiences within many large, complex enterprise organisations. He will deep dive into the problem but will also provide guidance on how to progress. It will be a bumpy ride, so strap in.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Mirco Hering<\/h5>\n

Mirco Hering is a Managing Director at Accenture and looks after the Global DevOps practice as well as the Agile practice in Asia Pacific. He has worked for over a dozen years on accelerating software delivery through innovative approaches like Agile and DevOps. He supports major public and private sector companies in Australia and overseas in their search for efficient IT delivery. He shares his experiences on his blog, Not a Factory Anymore, and by speaking at international conferences. He is the author of <\/span>DevOps for the Modern Enterprise<\/span><\/i>, a book helping companies adopt Agile and DevOps to push through the transformation barriers caused by legacy technology and legacy thinking. The book has been awarded \u2018Best DevOps Book 2018\u2019 by DevOps.com.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jez Humble is an author, speaker, CTO at DevOps Research and Assessment LLC, and a lecturer at UC Berkeley.<\/span><\/p>

He is the co-author of <\/span>Continuous Delivery<\/span><\/i>, the Jolt Award-winning book in Martin Fowler's signature series, as well as the books <\/span>Lean Enterprise<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>The DevOps Handbook<\/span><\/i>. Jez has spent his career tinkering with code, infrastructure, and product development and consulting in companies of varying sizes across three continents, most recently working for the US Federal Government at 18F.
