Melbourne Airport
Melbourne Airport is located approximately 25km north-west of Melbourne’s CBD on the Tullamarine Freeway, an approximate drive of between 30-40 minutes. There are a few options to get to and from Melbourne Airport to the city. Please see below for more details:

SkyBus
SkyBus offers an express bus service from the airport to the city centre. This service operates 24/7, including all public holidays. Buses run every 10 minutes throughout the day.

Choose the Southbank Docklands Express Bus Options if you are heading straight to Crown Palladium or selected Crown Accommodation options, or alternatively choose the Melbourne City Express Bus Option to Southern Cross Station, with SkyBus providing a complimentary hotel transfer service to alternative hotels.

Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the bus stop or purchased online at www.skybus.com.au.

Taxi
Taxi ranks are conveniently located across each of the aiport terminals. Melbourne CBD is approximately a 30-40 minute ride away and will cost about $56-$62 one way. Estimate your fare here. A Melbourne Airport access fee of $3.58 applies to all pick-ups originating from an airport taxi rank.

Getting around Melbourne

Myki
If you are planning to use public transport around Melbourne, it is recommended that you purchase a myki card. The reusable card is easy to use for trains, trams and buses in Melbourne and regional Victorian centres and can be purchased from myki machines or 7-eleven.

Simply top up before your journey and then touch on and touch off at a myki reader as you travel. See ptv.vic.gov.au/tickets/myki for more details.

Free Tram Zones
The Free Tram Zone in Melbourne’s CBD makes it easier for commuters and tourists to move around the city. The principal boundaries of the Free Tram Zone are Spring Street, Flinders Street and La Trobe Street. Additionally, the tram routes along Victoria Street, William Street and Elizabeth Street that surround Victoria Market are also included as well as the Docklands area.

Download the Free Tram Zone map here.

If your tram journey is only within the zone, travel is free, so you do not need to touch on with a myki. If your journey begins or ends outside of the Free Tram Zone you must touch on with a valid myki when boarding the tram.
