About Olivia Omotosho

Olivia Omotosho is an Author, Speaker, Learner and an Agilist. She is the author of the book “21 girls who made the world a better place”. Olivia Omotosho doesn’t only love to read books; she loves to write too. She has written some short, unpublished stories before her first published work, which is ’21 girls who made the world a better place’. Olivia had a goal to publish her book on her 10th birthday. The book is proof that everything is possible for a young girl who believes. The process of making this book was long, challenging and also rewarding. In the end, Olivia achieved her goal! Olivia believes that girls are amazing and are capable of achieving great things in life. The book is available on Amazon, Roving Heights bookshop and other book platforms.

Olivia launched “Project Eleven11”, one of the projects close to her heart on June 26, 2021, on her 11th birthday. Through #ProjectEleven11, Olivia focuses on placing her book in the hands of young people, especially susceptible children who could not afford to buy the book. In Nigeria, more than 10.5 million children are out of school, according to the most recent data (UNICEF-WCARO Nigeria Fact sheets on Girls Education), and many of them being girls (60%). With the help of some partners, Olivia would love to donate 1,111 books to 1,111 children in Nigeria as part of “Project Eleven11”. Olivia is guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which is to “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote life learning opportunities for all.

Project Eleven11 is on its way to success. The engagement and distribution of free copies of the book have started in schools within the grassroot community in Lagos state Nigeria.

Olivia enjoys travelling; no wonder she has travelled to several countries of the world and has lived in five cities – Ibadan, Lagos, Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne. Olivia currently lives in Melbourne Australia with her dad, mum, her little brother and a number of unfinished books.

Agile can be used for many different things, in many different ways, by many different people. So why not by many different ages?

This is the story of how an 8 year old used Agile to create her first book, how Agile can easily be simplified so that even a young child could understand it and how Agile can kickstart a journey of success. As the author of the book ‘21 Girls who Made the World a Better Place’, this lightning talk follows how Olivia Omotosho is able to reflect on how she used Agile during the making of her book, and continuously adapt the application of the content, so that she can flourish.
