About Solon Aguiar

Despite the initial struggle, Solon Aguiar began his coding journey in his early days of college in Northeast Brazil. Upon graduation he worked as a software development consultant helping Brazilian and American companies build software and adopt agile practices. Thereafter, Solon took the leap to move to the United States to work for Amazon as a software development engineer, where he spent many years learning and experiencing software at a massive scale.

In the search for opportunities in smaller companies, Solon landed as a senior engineer at Spotify and as a staff engineer at Segment (later acquired by Twilio) until he crashed and burned with a tiny start up founded by previous coworkers. Nowadays, Solon works as a staff engineer in the API platform team, helping engineering teams at Checkr gain more control over their systems.

He lives in Seattle, Washington, USA with his wife, baby and dog. Occasionally he plays tennis.
