When and where will the conference be held?

Agile Australia 2026 will take place in Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 May 2026.

Who attends Agile Australia?

Speaking at AgileAus26

How can I submit a talk?

Call for Speaker Submissions for AgileAus26 will open 1st December 2025 and close on 30th January 2026. Prospective speakers can attend an online information session to refine ideas and understand what the program committee is looking for.

More information can be found on the Be a Speaker Page.

Who reviews the speaker submissions?

A dedicated team of 40+ reviewers and stream chairs comprised of agilists from a wide range of organisation types and areas of expertise give feedback to those who have put in expressions of interest.

How is the final program built?

Under the guidance of the volunteers, Slatterys works to curate the program. Special care is taken to ensure that no constituency is over- or under-represented, that essential topics are covered, and that the program balances tried-and-true wisdom with fresh perspectives and emerging ideas.

How many talks are usually lifted from the speaker suggestion process?

Out of the 250+ suggestions, less than 25 will be selected for the final program (about 1 in 10).

Who else speaks at AgileAus?

Anyone is invited to submit up to two EOIs to speak at AgileAus26 and possibly be selected to be a community speaker through a peer-review process. Other speakers at the Conference include –

  • Invited speakers – In addition to community submissions, AgileAus26 includes speakers invited by TeamSlatts to ensure we cover hot topics and round out the program where needed.
  • Sponsored sessions – It is possible for sponsors to purchase a speaking spot that will be labelled as such on the program.

What sort of sessions are at AgileAus26?

Presentations
AgileAus26 offers 30-minute sessions for speakers to share case studies, practical approaches, and lessons learned, typically using slides. This format provides a concise, structured way to share insights, takeaways and encourage discussion.

Play & Dos
Hands-on, practical workshops for an hour duration – Attendees actively participate to practice techniques or try new approaches

Deep Dives
Invited and keynote speakers are encouraged to participate in interactive, intimate Deep Dive sessions where attendees can pick their brains by asking questions.

Lightning Talks
Sometimes the smallest talks have the biggest impact. Lightning Talks are short and sweet, 5 minute talks that share one idea really, really well. Don’t let their size fool you – it’s more of a challenge to be succinct than you’d think!

Unstructured Sessions
AgileAus welcomes sessions that involve small groups or more casual interactions held in the foyer. Past sessions have included – mentoring, Ikigai, lean coffee.

Do speakers need to purchase a ticket?

No. Confirmed speakers receive a complimentary ticket, giving them full access to the conference. Speakers are also invited to attend the conference dinner.

Is there financial support for speakers?

Yes. AgileAus26 will contribute up to AU$300 to help speakers cover travel-related costs only (e.g. flights, transport, parking).

Can I edit my speaker submission once I have submitted?

Yes, you can edit your EOI right up until the 30th January 2026 when submissions close.

When will I know if my EOI has been successful?

Some submitters will be invited to an interview/conversation with volunteers to discuss their submission in early February. All submitters will know by mid-February the status of their EOIs.
