Building Agile teams: A fireside chat with Slack – with Mark Angrish

During this fireside discussion, Allan Leinwand, SVP of Engineering at Slack, will share his experience building and scaling teams, drawing on experience from his most recent roles as CTO of ServiceNow, and now leading the Engineering Team at Slack.  

This is an informal discussion about the challenges of building and scaling Agile teams.  Allan will share his perspectives and experience on scale, culture and performance. In particular, Allan will explore the characteristics of high-performing teams. He’ll also discuss managing cultural change when adopting agility, plus how to balance agility with security and stability.

About Allan Leinwand

Allan Leinwand has a long spanning career in SaaS and information technology and has joined Slack from his tenured position as Chief Technology Officer for ServiceNow. Allan began his career in Cisco before founding Vyatta, which is now a subsidiary of AT&T. His expertise is focused on cloud computing, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Internet architectures and infrastructure.
