Leading change
Focusing on culture to fast-track Agility – with Anna El Ali
THE ICONIC focused on culture first and then brought in Agility. With the right culture in place, their Agile practices thrived.
Culture is how we think, what habits we create and what we do when we’re interacting with each other every day. Culture exists at many levels within organisations: from a single team to a tribe/department to company-wide. A cultural movement is a change in your culture that starts small, catches on and builds momentum. In this talk, Anna and Jody will share their ‘3C’s framework’ for successfully creating culture movements that you can use within a team or across your entire organisation to help Agile ways of working flourish. They’ll share examples of this framework in action, including how they enhanced their values-based culture, promoted trust and safety through Psychological Safety, and created a Learning Culture.
About Jody Weir
Jody Weir is passionate about helping organisations thrive by becoming high performing and joyful places to work in ways that shape the future of work for Australia. She strives to do this by working alongside intact, passionate and willing leadership teams using the mantra ‘Culture first, leader led, leaders go first’. Jody was introduced to new ways of working (including Agile, Design Thinking, Lean) during her 12 years working in the Silicon Valley and never looked back. Jody is currently the Head of Agility at THE ICONIC, which she endearingly refers to as ‘the Disneyland of work’. Jody has also worked for CommBank and AMP championing new ways of working as an Executive Program Manager and Transformation Leader. When she’s not working, Jody is in paradise (aka The Central Coast) hanging out with her family at the beach or on her back deck drinking tea.
