Keynote Are you drowning your autonomy in good intentions?

We ask our leaders for their trust, support and empathy – and so we should. We rightfully demand to be treated like responsible adults. But are we behaving as such?

Two years ago at Agile Australia I quoted an NZ CEO: “we have allowed our employers to become like our 1950s husband: Someone to take care of all our needs – financially, emotionally and socially. In return we have sacrificed our strength, our autonomy and our independence.”. Is this still true? Or have things changed for the better or are they worse?

In these uncertain and fragile times, we need resilience and agency. This talk is a rallying cry for action sprinkled with a few tips for what you can do.
