About Harneet Chitkara

Harneet Chitkara is a passionate Project/Program Management Professional and a staunch believer of “Continuous Improvement” not only at work but also in all spheres of life, especially his own inner self.

With immense experience under his belt in leading projects/programs with the Agile methodology, Harneet is currently leading VU’s transformation to Agile ways of working. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Stakeholders and Agile Coaches, Harneet is responsible for ensuring that the transformation program has a defined roadmap that, apart from providing day-to-day operational support to Agile Teams, is aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals and focused on developing avenues which can motivate teams to embrace this change towards empowered, high performance, self-organising teams.

After focusing on high performing team cultures and achieving reasonable traction, in last few months Harneet has been challenging himself to find avenues to promulgate this program towards achieving organisational agility and, in the process, challenging some enterprise level operating procedures, governance structures and even the financial model. A road less travelled, but full of eye-opening insights.

Outside of work, Harneet is a nature lover who, in his previous life, used to find every excuse to be outdoors enjoying walks, drives and capturing nature during his travels; but in his current life as a new dad he finds all the thrills in closely nurturing his two little buds and seeing them grow.

Agile at all costs: Organisational Agility vs. Financial Rigidity

How do traditional finance models pose challenges to Agile ways of working? Responding to the conference themes of developing Agile capability across organisations to create value, this talk will focus on such challenges and how to overcome them.

Using real examples from our own organisation and Agile transformation, this talk will cover how a wide-reaching Agile mindset can be used to influence paradigm shifts in conventional funding approaches.

This session will suit anyone who has progressed past initial phases of Agile transformation and is now interested in sharing Agile practices and engaging their organisation beyond immediate squads, rituals and core stakeholders.

With a focus on how senior executives and leaders can expand Agile ways of thinking at an enterprise level while challenging the traditional finance models and governance structures, through this session attendees will leave with fresh perspectives on financial modelling, value creation, and how to increase Agile awareness and capability across their organisation.
