About Dr Meera Aurora
Dr Meera Aurora is a Clinical and Forensic psychologist with 22 years’ experience in justice and health settings. She is also the founder of Love Your Mind Psychology. In her career in the public sector, Meera has held multiple positions relating to the management, supervision and training of staff and has most recently been responsible for designing, developing and implementing a Reflective Practice and Well-being framework to service 300 multidisciplinary staff. Formal qualitative and quantitative evaluation has demonstrated statistically significant results in factors such as role clarity, comfortability and self efficacy, all of which positively impact on psychological wellbeing.
At Love Your Mind Psychology, in addition to providing clinical psychological services for the general public, Meera also consults to Business and Government (including Health, Pharmaceutical, Education and Start-up) sectors and provides clinical support services and wellbeing for employees. Meera is a fellow of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists and APS College of Forensic Psychologists, an accredited supervisor for psychologists with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency and holds an advanced accreditation in Schema Therapy as both a Practitioner and Supervisor, with the International Society of Schema Therapists.
Hindsight 2020. What COVID has taught us about our mental health and where to from here.
In 2020 we, as a population, experienced the most significant shared trauma of our lives. The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on our mental health has been profound and will be experienced for years to come. It is therefore important that we proactively focus on protecting our mental health.
In this talk, the role of the workplace in protecting and promoting mental health is addressed. Strategies for leaders, businesses and teams are discussed, including the importance of having an accurate assessment of a team’s level of function, and how to prepare for and implement change in order to make psychological health and wellbeing as important as physical health and safety.
