Keynote The Joy of Agility
Agility isn’t a formula, a framework, nor a set of roles and rituals to follow. It’s a timeless way of thinking and being, that matures with practice and skill. Becoming Agile involves knowing the difference between being quick or hurrying, moving with ease or difficulty, being in or out of balance, graceful or awkward, adaptable or rigid, resourceful or resentful. In this talk, based on his forthcoming book, Joy of Agility, Joshua will share six essential Agile mantras, plus unforgettable, real-world Agile stories that will empower you to be quick, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of opportunities and challenges.

A genuinely agile team is swift, resourceful and adaptable, able to move with “quick easy grace” and achieve awesome results in record time.
If you aren’t experiencing that kind of agility, this workshop is for you.
It has taken me several decades to distill agility down to six core mantras. These mantras stand on the shoulders of giants in fields as diverse as quality management, athletic coaching, resilience engineering, psychological safety, and business leadership. They can help individuals, groups, teams, departments, divisions, and whole organisations develop agility.
In this new, highly interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to apply the six mantras to your context, so you can:
- Distinguish between being quick and hurrying
- Gain better balance and collaborate gracefully with others
- Prepare and practice being poised to adapt
- Take deliberate steps to drive out fear
- Grow a solution by starting minimal and evolving
- Overcome obstacles by being readily resourceful
