Read less The construction industry is a major industry globally and accounts for more than 10% of global GDP. Despite that, the sector’s innovation, productivity and efficiency are lagging behind as compared to other economic sectors. The positive results observed through the application of Agile in other industries have encouraged construction project teams to explore the concepts of Agile to drive innovation. Not only did Agile methods originate from the IT industry, but digital technology itself has become a useful and necessary tool for many construction projects.

Pearl Li Ng currently works as a Digital Manager with Aurecon Creative Technology. Outside of work, she is pursuing her PhD with the RMIT School of Property, Construction and Project Management, with her research focused on implementing Agile ways of working in the building and construction industry. Prior to joining Aurecon, she was a digital transformation specialist with IBM where she helped her clients in their technology transformation journey. Pearl was awarded the IBM Manager’s Choice Award and was also the recipient of the IBM Global Service Excellence Award. She is also named as the STA Superstar of STEM and ARN Women in Tech Finalist. Pearl’s ambition is to drive innovation via technology advancement, improved ways of working as well as diversity and inclusion.
